FAQ

Do I have to be vaccinated to attend an in-person screening?

All patrons and program participants, including Emerson Community, must provide either proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or proof of a recent negative COVID test to be admitted into any program in the Bright Family Screening Room.

For more information about ArtsEmersons COVID policies, check out their website.

Are masks required at the cinema?

Masks are mandatory. Any and all patrons and program participants must wear a mask

covering their nose and mouth at all times except while actively eating or drinking (which is only allowed in the Bright lobby).

KN95s and well-fitting 3-ply surgical masks are recommended. If a patron arrives

without a mask, one will be provided by Guest Experience or Box Office staff.

Will there be close or open captioning for the screenings?

Most films will have closed captions available. Where closed captions are not an option, those films will be screened with open captions.  For introductions, trailers and conversations we will be using open captions.

What about descriptive audio?

We will offer descriptive audio for films where it has been made available from the distributor. See film descriptions for more information.

How many seats are in the Bright Light Family Screening Room?

We have 174 seats.

When does seating start?

The doors open at 6:30PM. The screenings will start at 7PM. If you have not redeemed your ticket and the show is sold out, we will give away your ticket at 7:05PM. Discussions following the screening generally run 45 minutes.

Can I attend the Q&A only?

We can’t guarantee that anyone can come to just the Q&A. We suggest that you attend both the screening and conversation.

I’m a part of Emerson faculty, how do I redeem my ticket?

Come to the ticket booth by 6:45PM to redeem your ticket. Faculty seats are located in the second row.

Can my class/organization attend a screening?

Yes! For professors and student organizations, please reach out to Anna with an exact number (no more than 20) of people attending. The tickets will be saved under Anna’s name and the group has to claim the tickets altogether.

Do I need an ArtsEmerson account to acquire a ticket?

If you are planning to reserve a ticket online, you’ll need to create an account at artsemesron.org. You will not need an account to pick up a ticket at the box office.

I’ve forgotten my ArtsEmerson.org password. How do I reset it?

Click here or on the “Forgot Password” link on the login screen to reset your password. Enter your email address and you will be emailed a temporary password. If you run into any further issues, please contact the Box Office.
