The following faculty and their projects have been accepted into the Studio:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>VM331: Experimental Accessible Cinema<\/strong>&nbsp;<em>(Malic Amalya &#8211; VMA)<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Embracing Diversity in Digital and Algorithmic Marketing:&nbsp;<em>Expanding dimensions of diversity literacy&nbsp;among students<\/em><\/strong><em>&nbsp;(Sereikhuoch Eng &amp; Naa Amponsah Doodoo&nbsp;&#8211; MarcCom)<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Crossing Cultures:&nbsp;<em>Appreciation,accommodation, appropriation<\/em><\/strong><em>&nbsp;(Nejem Raheem &amp; Bhamati Viswanathan &#8211; MarCom)<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Communication Self-efficacy in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Adolescents:&nbsp;<em>Improving access and participation<\/em><\/strong><em>&nbsp;(Maryann Salehomoum &amp; Eileen McBride &#8211; SoC and Marlboro Institute)<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Re-visioning Perspectives in World Dance&nbsp;<\/strong><em>(Kristin Horrigan &amp; TBD &#8211; Performing&nbsp;Arts)<\/em><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>As a member of the studio, each faculty member will receive a stipend of $1,200 for creating new curriculum. Faculty members selected for the Studio will have the opportunity to apply for further funding for project-related expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the PFCI: <\/strong>Internationalization, diversity, and Inclusion are major priorities for Emerson. Emerson\u2019s Strategic Plan defines Internationalization as the commitment to &#8220;mutually beneficial engagement with the global society in which we participate, and to ensuring that all members of our community are prepared to thrive in that society.\u201d Similarly, Emerson&#8217;s dedication to Diversity and Inclusion is rooted in the belief that &#8220;institutional and academic \u00a0excellence are not possible without full engagement with diversity across all areas of the College.&#8221;\u00a0The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.emerson.edu\/research-creative-scholarship\/resources-faculty\/internal-grant-programs\/presidential-fund-curricular-innovation\">President\u2019s Fund for Curricular Innovation<\/a>\u00a0supports Emerson\u2019s commitment to internationalizing and diversifying the curriculum of the College, as well as the implementation of inclusive pedagogical approaches in the classroom Each year, faculty are invited to submit proposal projects for acceptance to the Curriculum Internationalization and Inclusion Studio. The goals of the Studio are to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Encourage collaboration among faculty;<\/li><li>Build our collective capacity to internationalize curriculum;<\/li><li>Develop specific courses, course modules, pedagogical and\/or advising methods that contribute to these aims.<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The PFCI and Curriculum and Internationalization and Inclusion Studio are jointly overseen by \u00a0<a href=\"mailto:anthony_pinder@emerson.edu\">Dr. Anthony Pinder<\/a>, Vice Provost\u00a0Internationalization &amp; Equity, and\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:tuesda_roberts@emerson.edu\">Dr. Tuesda Roberts<\/a>, Director of Faculty Development and Diversity.
