The revised PAPPG implements a variety of new requirements and clarifications. The most significant of these are changes to the following proposal sections:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Biographical Sketches<\/strong>: For the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/pubs\/policydocs\/pappg20_1\/pappg_2.jsp#IIC2f\">Biographical Sketch<\/a> component of an application, NSF will only accept PDFs that are generated through the use of an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/bfa\/dias\/policy\/biosketch.jsp\">NSF-approved format<\/a> (This requirement went into effect on October 5).<ul><li>Other changes include permission for the conditional use of \u201cet al\u201d for publication citations in the &#8220;Products&#8221; section, when citing multiple authors.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Current and Pending Support<\/strong>: The requirement to use an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/bfa\/dias\/policy\/cps.jsp\">NSF-approved format<\/a> for preparation of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/pubs\/policydocs\/pappg20_1\/pappg_2.jsp#IIC2h\">current and pending support<\/a> went into effect for proposals submitted on or after October 5. <ul><li>Along with the format change, the revised PAPPG expands the definition of <em>current and pending support<\/em> to include &#8220;all resources made available to an individual in support of and\/or related to all of his\/her research efforts&#8230; [including] in-kind contributions (such as office\/laboratory space, equipment, supplies, employees [or] students).&#8221;<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>An NSF webinar covering the new format requirements was recorded in April 2020 and can be accessed <a href=\"https:\/\/nsfpolicyoutreach.com\/resources\/april-2020-nsf-approved-formats-for-proposals\/\">here<\/a>.
