The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/emerson.edu\/departments\/orcs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Office of Research and Creative Scholarship<\/a>\u00a0administers the\u00a0fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The application deadline for AFDF funding in Academic Year (AY) 2024-2025 will be on<strong>&nbsp;March 15, 2024<\/strong>.&nbsp;Grants awarded for AY24-25 must be conducted between&nbsp;<strong>July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible for these funds, the applicant:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Must be a member of the&nbsp;Affiliated&nbsp;Faculty of Emerson College (AFEC-AAUP);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must have taught at least one course during each of the prior three consecutive years, including the current academic year (2023-2024); and-<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be slated to teach at least one Emerson course in the Academic Year for which the&nbsp;AFDF&nbsp;award will be granted (2024-2025).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Funding<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;AFDF&nbsp;Grant will provide support for approved projects up to $1,500 each. The Provost makes the final decision for funding and determination of awards, based on the recommendations of the&nbsp;AFDF&nbsp;Committee.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Types of Activities Funded<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Travel and expenses leading to scholarly, peer-reviewed publications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Travel and expenses leading to the production of creative and artistic works such as media productions, creative writing, performances, screenplays, exhibitions, audio and music productions, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Travel and expenses related to refereed conference presentations of scholarly or creative activities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Travel and expenses related to presentations to industry-related conferences and conventions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expenses for attending seminars and conferences related to new course&nbsp;development<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expenses for attending faculty&nbsp;development&nbsp;seminars and conferences to improve teaching skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Types of Activities Not Funded<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Activities that are already defined as part of&nbsp;affiliated&nbsp;faculty members\u2019 expected duties and responsibilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Activities for which the&nbsp;affiliated&nbsp;faculty member is already receiving compensation, course release, or some other form of College support.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additional&nbsp;salary or compensation for Emerson faculty and staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Retroactive expenses and activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Criteria and Considerations<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applications must be complete, clearly written, compelling, well defined and easily understood by all of the reviewers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applications that are incomplete and do not follow directions may be disqualified.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>While applicants may apply for consecutive year awards, the committee will evaluate proposals that are a continuation of any previously funded projects to determine if funding is appropriate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support for travel from the&nbsp;AFDF&nbsp;should be for activities that directly advance proposal activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants are required to submit a report of their project after completion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants must be slated to teach at least one Emerson course in the academic year for which the&nbsp;AFDF&nbsp;award will be granted (2024\u20132025).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Application Instructions<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Eligible applicants may begin their AFDF application by clicking on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLScrtU-bOJQOh2C3Qk7YzZHEID8ZjOb3Ev0_7y--Yt3YBJW86A\/viewform?usp=sf_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>this link<\/strong><\/a>.
