Patty Challan is the associate director of ECAPS. She started at Emerson as a part-time psychologist in 2003 and went full-time in 2004. She was promoted to assistant director in 2005 and associate director in 2010. She said of the award, “Since most of my work as a therapist happens 1:1 behind closed doors, it’s really cool to have that noticed by the Emerson community. I also appreciate the chance to be recognized for my collaborative work on campus, such as with the Cirque de De-Stress, and for my work with graduate-level therapists in training over the past 15+ years. I feel lucky to work with so many amazing colleagues across the College and privileged to join others who have received this award.”

She said of the award, “I was very surprised to get this award, and I feel really lucky to have a job that I really enjoy. I truly want to make a positive difference with the work I do, and this award means that my colleagues noticed how much I care and how hard I am working to create a positive student experience.”
