August and September Award of Excellence Winners

Corey Blackmar, associate director of internationalization initiatives in Internationalization and Global Engagement, is the August Award of Excellence winner. He’s been at Emerson for a little over a year. He said of the award, “Winning this award means that I am only as good as the team that is behind me and supports me. Every day, I feel like I can contribute my thoughts, ideas, and sometimes even dissenting opinions and still feel heard and respected. I appreciate the inclusive culture of both IGE and of Emerson in general—without it, neither I nor others would be as excellent as we are!”

David Todd, associate director of student transitions in the Office of Student Transitions and Family Programs, is the September Award of Excellence winner. He returned for his second stint at Emerson in March, after leaving a position in the Admission Office to work at Wellesley College for three years. He said of the award, “I am very thankful to be in this role at Emerson and to have had the opportunity to work alongside so many amazing students, staff, and faculty. I am especially thankful for the two other staff members in [my office]: Maureen Hurley and Desiree Bradford. They have truly been amazing to work with and have been so supportive in my transition here (pun intended!)….Winning the Emerson Award of Excellence is something I will always remember and treasure.”
