February and March Award of Excellence Winners

Christofer Volz, the assistant director of facilities in Facilities Management, is the February Award of Excellence winner. Later this summer, he will celebrate his two-year anniversary at Emerson. He said of the award, “With last year being such a challenge due to the pandemic, it was very flattering to be given the award. Knowing the time and effort that my colleagues put in on a daily basis (not to mention the additional efforts needed during the pandemic) makes receiving the award very special to me. It is a very nice feeling to know that my efforts are recognized by others.”

Ashley Gravina, a residence director in Housing and Residential Education, is the March Award of Excellence winner. She has been the residence director of 2 Boylston Place since January 2020. She said of the award, “Winning the Award of Excellence was an amazing surprise. It is so heartwarming to feel like all of my hard work was seen, valued, and appreciated to such an extent that folks felt that I was deserving of this honor. I am proud to be part of a team that has been working incredibly hard over the course of the last year to make living on campus as safe and rewarding as possible for our students. This award belongs to them just as much as it belongs to me; I am honored to be part of such an awesome team.”
