August Award of Excellence Winner

Kayla Carcone, alumni relations officer in Alumni Engagement, is the August Award of Excellence winner. She graduated from Emerson in December 2018 and started working in the Alumni Relations Office in September 2019. She said of winning the award, “It’s incredibly heartwarming to be recognized in this way by my team, and particularly by my colleague, Jacob DiTore, because I’ve known him since Day 1. We lived on the same floor our first year and eventually worked together on Orientation Core Staff—so to continue to know and work with him makes every day at Emerson special. Creating the Emerson Pride campaign and establishing the Pride Fund alongside him and Jillian Naimo (also an alum!) is a huge point of pride for me, and this award feels like the cherry on top of that great success. Emerson has been a part of my life for so long, and it’s so wonderful to be acknowledged in this way. I’m very grateful.”
