September and October Award of Excellence Winners
Britt Locklin, residence director in the Little Building, is the September Award of Excellence winner. She has been an RD in the Little Building for a little over three years. She also serves as the advisor for the Mystic student org. She said of the award, “Winning this award means that my hard work is noticed and valued. The past year has been really hard on everyone, but it has a special flavor of hard being in a job where I also live where I work. Winning this award validates me in the work I’m doing and tells me that others see when I go above the expectation. It is also humbling to know that my coworkers see me as a support system and a pillar on the team enough to nominate me for this award.”
Danny Garcia-Decoteau, senior financial analyst in Procurement, is the October Award of Excellence winner. He has been working in Procurement for three and a half years. He said of the award, “Winning this award feels personal! It felt like it was a thank you directly from the Emerson community, which I appreciate so much. Being responsive is a top priority for me. I want folks to know that they are heard, even if I can’t tend to their issues right away. The award is a reflection of that value.”
