November 2024 Award of Excellence Winner

Kelsey Whipple, production business administrator in the Office of the Arts, is the November Award of Excellence winner. They started at Emerson on a part-time basis in March 2022 as the COVID-19 compliance administrator for the Office of the Arts; they then transitioned into the role of assistant general manager for the inaugural season of the UnCommon Stage on Boston Common in May 2023. In January 2024, they started in their current full-time position. In addition to their main job in the Office of the Arts, they have also stage-managed two residencies, ArtsEmerson’s Season Preview event, and the Speech@Emerson Graduate Hooding ceremonies for two years.

They said of winning the award, “Being nominated for and winning this award has been very gratifying and encouraging….So often it is easy to get stuck in the weeds of the day to day and feel like you are not really making a difference, but seeing and hearing from my supervisors and peers that my efforts are being seen and matter to the team as a whole is great encouragement to keep on the path that I’ve been following.”
