  • Lauren Labonte (Registrar’s Office) has been promoted from senior assistant registrar to associate registrar.
  • The Academic Affairs Employee Recognition program called STARs (Service That Academic Affairs Recognizes) announced the following Fall 2018 STARs recipients:
    • Unsung Hero: Eric Matthews (Academic Affairs)
    • Positive ‘Tude: Nicole Martignetti (Institute)
    • Extra Mile: Emily Paramore (WLP)
    • Bridge Builder/Collaboration: Laura Glufling-Tham (CSD)

Nominations for the Spring 2019 recipients are open until May 15! Awards worth $600 will be given to Academic Affairs employees who have been nominated by Emerson faculty and staff and whose everyday actions demonstrate extraordinary service, dedication, and collaboration at Emerson.

Any Emerson faculty or staff member can nominate Academic Affairs staff members. Nominations should be succinct (500 words or less) and include specific examples of how your nominee meets the criteria of one of the categories.   • Two short films scored by Mattia Maurée (School of the Arts) are in the festival circuit. Water Horse, directed by Sean Temple, Emerson MFA ’16, and Sarah Wisner, premiered at Boston Underground Film Festival 2019. It also appeared at Chattanooga Film Festival and will be at Las Vegas Film Festival and Crypticon Seattle Horror Film Festival. A/S/L, directed by Ben Swicker, has a number of US showings including Chattanooga Film Festival and BUFF Best of Boston 2018, as well as Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal and BiFan in South Korea.

  • There will be a gathering of remembrance for Maureen Murphy (Administration and Finance) on May 3 at 2:00 pm in the Jackie Liebergott Black Box. RSVP to presidentialevents@emerson.edu by April 30.
