On November 1 and 2, faculty, staff, and students presented their work and research related to the theme of \u201cBuilding Bridges in Uncertain Times: Finding Commonalities Through Communication.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The theme connects closely with the Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) and the environmental issues our planet is facing. In this Pre-Summit, many presentations had to do with sustainability and Emerson&#8217;s part in building bridges and developing solutions through uncertain times. Some sustainability-focused presentations included, &#8220;Sustainability Communication,&#8221; &#8220;Cultural Sustainability and the SDGs in European Union and Andorran cultural policies,&#8221; &#8220;Green Production Initiative in Visual and Media Arts,&#8221; &#8220;The SDGs in Higher Education: Blanquerna and Emerson,&#8221; and &#8220;Emerson Green Collective&#8217;s Creative Communication of Campus Sustainability.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sustainability manager Jen Lamy spoke on a panel about Emerson&#8217;s goals and initiatives to become more environmentally conscious and improve sustainability programs. Eco Ambassador and Emerson Green Collective (EGC) President Ava Tribe presented on EGC\u2019s creative communications projects along with the group\u2019s former advisor and professor, Nejem Raheem. The two day program of presentations concluded Wednesday night with the &#8216;Southwick Recital &#8211; Impact: Personal Stories of Change and Connection,&#8217; where students and faculty performed at the Greene Theater.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the Pre-Summit, the<a href=\"https:\/\/globalcommunicationsummit.com\/\"> full Global Summit <\/a>will take place in Washington D.C. on November 4.
