To our LGBTQ+ community: you are beautiful.
Throughout June we recognize, remember, and celebrate Pride Month.
The first Pride march occurred on June 28, 1970, one year after police raids on the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in New York City, one of many locations where LGBTQ community resisted stigma, phobias, violence, and legal oppression against their identities in the years before and during the gay rights movement.
Pride Month is a reason to celebrate but also a necessary reminder that we must continue to strive for equal rights that recognize our inherent and shared humanity, dignity, and worth.
