Dear Emerson community,
Time flies! The cross-functional Sustainability Action Planning team is approaching the finish line. Over the next month, each of the six working groups will finalize their plans and bring them to the other groups for discussion. After that, we’ll provide a few opportunities for the rest of the community to weigh in.
This week and next, six working groups are wrapping up their third round of meetings and finalizing 2030 goals and specific strategies for each of their respective areas. Next week, the Sustainability Action Plan’s informal advisory council will meet for its second briefing. The group will spend their hour together combing through the draft plans of each group and providing concrete feedback.
In early April, all six working groups will come together for our Sustainability Action Plan summit. The groups will dig into each other’s plans and work to find cohesion among the strategies laid out. After that, a small subgroup will work together to turn these ideas into a draft plan, which will be shared with the entire Emerson community for comment over the summer. We’ll also hold a couple of virtual information sessions during that time to allow for additional feedback.
Keep an eye out over the next couple of months for more updates and to provide feedback on our draft plan. As always, please get in touch with sustainability@emerson.edu with any questions and remember that you can submit an idea or question anonymously at any time using the virtual suggestion box.
Sincerely,
Jen Lamy, Associate Director of Sustainability
