March Update: Sustainability Action Plan

Dear Emerson community,

As March comes to an end, I’m writing to you with our monthly Sustainability Action Plan update. Our six working groups continue to make progress developing action plans to achieve the ambitious goals they have set and we can’t wait to share more with everyone soon.

This month, the working groups each met for their fourth and final time. They spent this round of meetings going through a worksheet for each strategy they have identified to define clear actions, stakeholders, budgetary needs, and more.

The advisory council met for their second briefing this month as well. The group went through each goal and strategy proposed by every working group and provided detailed input on each. The groups have been hard at work incorporating feedback from the group!

On April 11, all of the working groups will come together for a hybrid Sustainability Action Plan summit. Each group will present their current action plans, providing an opportunity for feedback and collaboration between all members of this cross-functional planning team. After the summit, we will move into turning these disparate plans into one cohesive Sustainability Action Plan to bring to College leadership this summer.

Keep an eye out over the next couple of months for more updates and to provide feedback on our draft plan. As always, please get in touch with sustainability@emerson.edu with any questions and remember that you can submit an idea or question anonymously at any time using the virtual suggestion box.

Sincerely,

Jen Lamy, Associate Director of Sustainability
