Organized by Curator-in-Residence Joseph Ketner in coordination with Emerson College students, Generation Next presents a snapshot of future visual art culture by selecting work by some of the finest graduate students working at Boston University, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. The exhibition capitalizes on Boston’s position as a seedbed of emerging visual culture in the international art community.  The Gallery will be open until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

3:15 – 4:00      Campus Conversations

Meet in small groups with student leaders from across campus to find out more about the day-to-day life of an Emerson student.  Parent and family members in the past have rated this among the best sessions they attended!

5:30 – 7:00      Dinner in Dining Hall

Parents and family members are invited to experience a dining hall meal on us.  Each guest must have ordered a ticket in advance, as there will be no vouchers available at the door.  (Please note, you do not have to order a ticket for a student currently on the meal plan.)

8:00 – 10:00    The Beauty Queen of Leenane

Guests attending Spring Family Day may want to purchase tickets to attend the Arts Emerson production of The Beauty Queen of Leenane. In a small house in the mountains of Ireland, a lonely spinster locks horns with her house-bound, manipulative mother in a rage-filled battle of the wills. Ireland’s most important contemporary playwright, Martin McDonagh’s (The Pillowman, The Cripple of Inishmaan) The Beauty Queen of Leenane is a subversive thriller that takes audiences through the twists and turns of the ultimate dysfunctional relationship, revealing what can happen when family ties go too far…way too far.  Tickets may be purchased on the ArtsEmerson website.

Please note:  this production may not be suitable for all members of your family.  All ticket transactions must be done through Arts Emerson.  Tickets will not be available through Family Day registration.
