Last week, faculty and staff from across Emerson brought office supplies, electronics, books, and more to the fall, 2022 Clean Out Your Office (COYO) days.
Held over two days in the Bordy Theater to accommodate hybrid work schedules, the event diverted an estimated 200 pounds of supplies from the trash stream. Archives staff were also on site to help faculty and staff manage digital and physical records.
Items brought to the event were first taken by other members of the Emerson community, which prevented departments from purchasing the items. After the COYO days ended, electronic waste (“e-waste”) was handled by the Help Desk, school and office supplies were given to Jumpstart, and remaining items were stored to be combined with other donations for additional nonprofit partners.
