Earth Hour 2023

On Saturday, March 25, Emerson will be participating in the 2023 Earth Hour to raise awareness about climate change. We’ll be turning out the lights across campus from 8:30 to 9:30 pm as part of this global movement.

Every member of the Emerson community—whether on or off campus—is encouraged to participate in whatever way they are able! Here are some ideas:

  • Turn out your own lights from 8:30 to 9:30 pm.
  • Take a photo or video of the lights going out (either outside on campus or inside your room/apartment if you turn out your own lights!) and post on Instagram using the tag #BiggestHourForEarth. Feel free to tag @SustainableEmerson as well!
  • Take an evening walk and do some stargazing
  • Read up on climate change and spend Earth Hour identifying how you can make a difference
  • Cook up a plant-based meal and eat by candlelight
  • Attend a virtual or in-person Earth Hour event
