Calling all faculty and staff!
Are you looking for a festive way to celebrate Campus Sustainability Month this October? Do you have some old office supplies you’re not using anymore? Or are you looking for the perfect stapler for your desk?
Join sustainability staff on Wednesday, October 18, for our fall Clean Out Your Office (COYO) day! This year, we will be collecting items in the SPC Black Box (lower level of the Little Building) from 8:30 – 11 am and then allowing folks to come “shop” for continued items from 11 am to 1:30 pm. Everything remaining at 1:30 pm will be donated.
As a reminder, here is what we accept during COYO day:
- Office supplies
- Electronics
- Books in good condition
- Records (physical or digital) for consultation with archives staff
And here is what we cannot accept during COYO day:
- Personal items
- Food
- Clothing
- Any items that would not be useful to another office on campus
Here are a few requests and tips:
- If your item would not be useful to another office, please don’t bring it to COYO day. This event is about sharing items on campus, not unloading items you don’t want to deal with! If you are having trouble disposing of items responsibly, please email sustainability@emerson.edu and we will work with you on a separate plan!
- If you have an item you would like to donate but will not be on campus on October 18, consider asking a colleague in your office to bring it over!
- If you are looking for a specific item but can’t attend, feel free to email sustainability@emerson.edu and we’ll try to keep an eye out.
- If you plan to bring items over to COYO day, you might consider placing a box in a central location in your department to collect items from others with offices nearby. You can then bring it all over on October 18.
- Feel free to use the Chuckslist slack channel at any time throughout the year to give away or look for office supplies!
