On Saturday, March 25, Emerson will be participating in the 2023 Earth Hour to raise awareness about climate change. We’ll be turning out the lights across campus from 8:30 to 9:30 pm as part of this global movement.
Every member of the Emerson community—whether on or off campus—is encouraged to participate in whatever way they are able! Here are some ideas:
- Turn out your own lights from 8:30 to 9:30 pm.
- Take a photo or video of the lights going out (either outside on campus or inside your room/apartment if you turn out your own lights!) and post on Instagram using the tag #BiggestHourForEarth. Feel free to tag @SustainableEmerson as well!
- Take an evening walk and do some stargazing
- Read up on climate change and spend Earth Hour identifying how you can make a difference
- Cook up a plant-based meal and eat by candlelight
- Attend a virtual or in-person Earth Hour event
