Faculty Grants Program (FGP) Applications Now Open for Three Funding Tracks
The Office of Research and Creative Scholarship is pleased to announce the launch of the Faculty Grants Program to support the research and creative scholarship of tenure-track and tenured Emerson faculty. Applications are now being accepted for three distinct funding tracks, as detailed below. Eligible faculty should apply for the program track that offers the best support for their proposed project.

This grant supports full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty members with significant scholarly or creative projects already in progress and beyond the development stage. The award provides one course release, offering eligible faculty members dedicated time needed for completing substantial works that make significant contributions to their fields.
- Eligibility: Full-time tenure-track and tenured faculty
- Maximum Award Amount: One course release (Fall 2026 or Spring 2027)
- Application Form Opens: October 1, 2025
- Application Form Closes: November 10, 2025
- Funding Decision Notifications: February 1, 2026
- Eligible Period for Awarded Projects: September 2, 2026 – May 7, 2027

Faculty Scholarship & Creative Practice Fund
This grant provides funding support for faculty research and creative projects (including films, performances, art installations, archival research, human subjects studies, and technological innovations) at any phase of development.
- Eligibility: Full-time tenure-track and tenured faculty
- Maximum Award Amount: $5,000
- Application Form Opens: October 1, 2025
- Application Form Closes: December 1, 2025
- Funding Decision Notifications: March 31, 2026
- Eligible Period for Awarded Projects: July 1, 2026 – June 15, 2027

Provost’s Fund for Collaborative Research
This grant supports interdisciplinary projects undertaken by two or more Emerson faculty members. The fund provides resources to advance joint research over a single academic year, encouraging collaborations across Emerson College. The program’s primary goals include promoting cross-departmental collaboration, enhancing the quality and impact of faculty research, and encouraging the exchange of ideas that can lead to new insights, creative solutions, and scholarly contributions.
- Eligibility: Two or more full-time faculty, with one tenure-track or tenured faculty member serving as the lead applicant. Term faculty may serve as co-applicants. Co-applicants should be from different disciplines or fields of study
- Maximum Award Amount: $15,000
- Application Form Opens: October 1, 2025
- Application Form Closes: December 1, 2025
- Funding Decision Notifications: March 31, 2026
- Eligible Period for Awarded Projects: July 1, 2026 – June 15, 2027
