Favorite part of Pub Club: Holding the finished book in your hands right before everyone arrives for the launch. Just being able to see all of the hard work that went into the book, and then the author’s reaction right before the doors open is just the best feeling.
Craziest Pub Club memory: I’m sure everyone else will say this too, but the time when a word got left off of the cover. We panicked, I had to bring the books up to campus from the Harvard Bookstore in the pouring rain, and the bottom of the box fell out. Then we had the epiphany to have the author sign the word on the front cover—a stroke of genius that saved the launch. But we did learn our lesson—always pick up the books BEFORE the day of the launch, just in case something has gone wrong!
Why do you love publishing?: I’m so passionate about getting stories into the world. Being able to put stories together into a format that people can access is so rewarding for me. And then to have people talk about the work that you helped to put into their hands is even more satisfying. Book publishing is truly an art and a collaborative team effort, and I love working with all of these insanely talented people to put out such a great product every time. I hope to be able to work somewhere in the real world where I can do something as fun and rewarding as Pub Club.
Patronus: If I had to pick an animal, a giraffe. If it could be anything, then Ke$ha. Obviously.
